Yes is the city of love…yes they have amazing fashion Maisons…yes they serve the best Foie Gras in the world…yes to a million beautiful things but, unfortunately, my relationship with Paris it is always been very conflictual.
I travelled to Paris many times for many different reasons and I can’t explain why my bond with this capital isn’t getting very tight. I totally agree with the fact that you should visit Paris at least once in your life and I truly believe that it is one of the most romantic places on Earth but…
Last time I visited Paris I went for a weekend during December, in my opinion, one of the best period of the year to go, the streets are full of Christmas lights, the vibe is super relaxed and the weather is perfect to stop and check each single bistrot around. Even though Italian food is always the best, French cuisine knows how to defend.
Certainly there are a lot of attraction to visit in Paris so I decided to share here my “one time” must see places list. Jogging on the River Seine, the Eiffel Tower at sunset or night, the 12th-century Gothic Notre-Dame cathedral. Shopping: Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Galeries Lafayette. The famed Louvre Museum where Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa portrait rest, the Musée d’Orsay which hosts Impressionist works by Monet, Degas and Renoir. Montmartre neighborhood, home to Sacré-Coeur Basilica and sweeping hilltop views. The Marais, artist, markets and nightclubs sit among restored 17th-century mansions. The Latin Quarter, bustling with Sorbonne scholars, and the historically bohemian Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of my favorite district.
This is the base when you visit Paris for the first time than I believe in a “getting lost around” spirit and take advantage of the unexpected discoveries that you may bump into. Au revoir!
